Más sobre ZBrush 4 R2… Impresionante.

Cuarto aperitivo del R2 y la cosa cada vez más al rojo… Este último vídeo deja ver condensadas muchas de las novedades ya insinuadas en los avances previos: subdivisión dinámica estilo “Sculptris”, operaciones booleanas, cortes con conservación de ambos lados de la malla y manipulación de los mismos (¿Cut Subtool??), una especie de Insert Mesh con fusión de las mallas (al menos en este vídeo parece más claro), aunque aún tengo mis dudas. Puede que un Insert Mesh tradicional creara el mismo efecto. Una fusión real de mallas sería ya el colmo (Sculptris y MeshMixer en ZBrush!!!), pero vamos  a ver, que queda una semanita…

Más cosas: El modelado mediante splines cada vez resulta más atractivo, esas alas creadas en segundos, las “plumas” sobre la cabeza, las filigranas alrededor de la figura central… dejan pasmado. Esa especie de herramienta que se usa para pintar/texturizar, que en el primer vídeo se aplicaba sobre una copa y aquí sirve para generar diferentes patrones sobre el cuerpo del modelo parece emplear también algún tipo de spline.

Las booleanas parece que no se limitan a entidades tipo primitiva (en el primer vídeo sólo se empleaban cilindros y cajas, y me temía algo así). Pero no, en este avance se puede ver cómo se le resta a la figura alada un clon de sí misma en el ala, de manera insultantemente sencilla. La verdad es que la cosa promete MUCHO.

Y finalmente deja ver un pincel que permite generar formas decorativas tipo espiral muy impactantes. Parece muy divertido.
